1939 Canada Silver Dollar (Parliament Building, Ottawa)
Below is a rarely available cut out Canadian silver dollar coin money clip. First a better-quality circulated coin is selected, showing very wear to the building's steps, facade, and tower. Being over 80 years old, minor handling and bag marks are visible.
Notice each detail is cut out around, including the Parliament Building, and each letter, including the date of minted, 1939. And almost ever inner-rim notch is cut to contrast the engraving. It may look fragile, but at closer look you will see a bridge connecting each of the coin's elements. These bridges are a special cut that is thicker at the botton, than at the top, giving the first glance and illusion that all is floating. They are not. Each is connected and guaranteed against breakage under normal use for the life of the money clip.
The final cut out coin is then soldered into a larger U.S. dollar size rim, then mounted in a sterling silver Anson-style coin frame. This offset allows the full coin footprint to be viewed with the bezel's rim. The darker areas (or currency you see through the coin) are the areas "cut away."
This style money clip holds up to 15 bills thickness, and you don't fold the bills first. It is not designed for ID or credit cards.
